The music is sublime. One of the few bands that actually get better with age. It shows how weak music is now days. This is a buy obviously, however it could have had better packaging. It deserved quality inner sleeves, and also more info on each song. That said the fidelity, and vinyl quality is superb. Rated a definite buy.

Sellers should divulge when their CD products do not come in a jewel case. Look...just charge another quarter and do away with the cheap cardboard wrappers that offer no protection whatsoever.

...of ELP but I do like them. That said I prefer their instrumentals but the songs with vocals still sound good. This huge 3 disk set is a solid deal. I had some of their vinyl back in the day so wanted to get some digital recordings. This set is perfect and you can\'t beat the price. Audiophiles should be pleased with the transfers.

Excellent Collection Of ELP’s Best Works.

I already had an older ELP “The Best Of” from the nineties but that was a single cd whereby this is three cd’s. The first disc contains pretty much ELP’s debut self titled album, next up is the “Tarkus” medley and most of the songs from that album. The “Pictures At An Exhibition” album is not complete but it does contain the main track. It’s amazing how they took Mussorgsky’s classic composition and added lyrics and their own take on this classical piece of work. The second disc contains most of ELP’s third studio album “Trilogy” although you don’t get the complete “The Endless Enigma” oddly just part one. The fourth studio album “Brain Salad Surgery” is nicely represented here with the “Karn Evil” impressions and if course the beautiful “Still, You Turn Me On”. The popular cuts are all represented which is nice”. The third disc includes “I Believe In Father Christmas” and “C’est La Vie” both beautiful songs sung by Greg Lake. In my opinion he had one of the best voices, if not the best, in progressive rock history. John Wetton comes in a close second. A few tracks from “Works” and “Works Live” are represented and last is probably ELP’s least popular album “Love Beach” which has a few nice tracks included but the self titled song is missing. The band’s later material from “Black Moon” is partially here and includes several tracks but mysteriously “Paper Blood” is not here. Odd seeing as though it was one of, if not the best song on that album. Even with a few omissions this really is an excellent collection and is also remastered. The packaging is lousy, cd’s slid right into cardboard with no sleeves to protect them. Also, no liner notes or photos. But all that really counts is the great music on these three cd’s.

This collection is good overall--I liked most of the selections, though the recording or mixing sounded a little different from what I'd heard before. Some of the songs aren\'t great & seem to be here to fill up three CDs. Overall, I think "Come and See The Show" is a better greatest hits compilation--better sound quality & a good set of songs--but it\'s tough to find on CD. Still, this collection is more extensive and a worthwhile substitute.

When I went to college in the 1970's, everyone was listening to ELP, so I jumped at the chance to buy a CD of their hits. This music was so innovative at the time, and no one was really able to copy the Moog synthesizer sounds of Keith Emerson, the voice of Greg Lake, and the drum solos of Carl Palmer. These songs bring back a lot of great memories.

Il y a 50 ans quand Emerson Lake & Palmer ont émergé sur la scène rock, je peux dire que je n'ai pas accroché. Je suis passé complètement à côté de Tarkus et des autres LP du groupe. C'est tout à fait par hasard que j'ai entendu ce CD et là..., le choc. J'ai redécouvert un groupe d'une grande qualité. Ce CD en particulier brosse l'ensemble de la carrière que personnellement j'ai bien ratée!!!

Trois CD pour moins de 15€, c'est ce qui m'a décidé a acheter cette compilation d'un groupe à la réputation controversée. ELP est surtout connu comme le groupe phare du Pomp-rock ("le rock pompier", paroxysme de la tendance à la virtuosité démonstrative du rock progressif), le premier groupe à avoir rempli des stades avec des effets pyrotechniques à la J M Jarre, avec des morceaux essentiellement instrumentaux, souvent long, souvent inspirés de la musique classique (Bartok, Prokofiev, Tchaikovski, Moussorgski...)
On retrouve tous leurs morceaux de bravoure sur cette compilation des plus pop "still you turn me on" aux plus "classique" (Piano Concerto n°1) en passant par les morceaux de bravoure heroic fantasy (Karn Evil, Tarkus) et les sommets du kitch (Fanfare for the common man)...
Ca n'a pas fait de moi un fan du groupe, mais il faut reconnaître qu'il y a des morceaux impressionnants.
